It's been awhile since we have posted an update inregards to the festival. I have to apologize as I have been working on a larger project that I hope to announceat this year's festival. The festival is just a few weeks away and if you are thinking about attending now is the time to purchase a workshop or pass. Also if you think that visiting Telluride is expensive, we have special room rates. See our lodging sponsor offers below.
The 2011 festival will feature a DSLR "Film Festival" on Friday September 29, 2011. The advent of the digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera with the ability to shoot video has revolutionized independent and low budget filmmakers--particularly in the areas of documentary, nature, adventure, and action sport film. Since many professional still photographers are now shooting video, the Telluride Photo Festival, is pleased in being able to showcase the work of leading DSLR filmmakers.
This year's list of guest workshop leaders and presenters is extremely exciting. Photographers leading workshops at this year's festival include in no particular order iLCP Fellow Garth Lenz, Adam Barker, Ansel Adams Conservation Photography Aware recipient Ian Shive, The North Photographer, Tim Kemple and the Camp4 Collective, David Clifford, Tom Till, David FitzSimmons.
